Lee’s birthday bonfire yesterday was basically Mad Max. This was the only time C was sad the whole time and it’s because I accidentally pushed her down to take this picture. Totally worth it.

Great video about how Jared is great.

In episode 3 of the 1st season of Magnum, P.I., Rick is seen wearing the best shirt I’ve ever seen. It appears to be made of a lightweight fabric featuring a print of bananas, hot dogs, jalapeños, and something else.

I am haunted by my inability to determine what the other thing on his shirt is. Can you tell what it is?

Mystery solved! Justin “Neuromusic” Kiggins has identified the 4th item as “a woman. Blond, facing left, right hand in her hair, left hand on her hip. Red once piece swimsuit.” Based on this additional shot from Jeff Hammett, I’m convinced that Justin is correct.

Many thanks to everyone who helped: Yewknee, Merici, Chad, Neil, and Duke De Silver.

Phosphorescent - “Muchacho” out today on Dead Oceans and getting BNM‘ed left and right.

Very thankful to my friends at Jagjaguwar/Dead Oceans/Secretly Canadian for having me work on this and three other excellent albums in the last year and a half.

So cool.

Pitchfork is streaming a free preview of Night Beds’ new album Country Sleep, and accompanying it with a slide show of photographs I made for the album art.  You can view full screen and listen.

Check it out here!

Really beautiful work from Dusdin. The album is beautiful too.

Six Hours of Airplane Departures Condensed Into 32 Seconds

Man, so proud of Cy for making these great videos. It’s cool to see them getting so much attention.

Now, if only more people would pay attention to his other movies, like Indentured, a documentary about the shameful abuse suffered by laborers on U.S. military bases.
