Planet of Aurora by Göran Strand
The promised aurora came at last. Me and a friend went out to capture the beauty, and what a show it was. I made two panoramas of my friend while he was taking pictures.
Behold our planet.

This video shows the the flowing ribbons and rays of the aurora australis, or “southern lights,” filmed by astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) while passing over the Indian Ocean on September 17. This was filmed while ISS passed from south of Madagascar to just north of Australia between 17:22 and 17:45 Universal Time. James Turrell’s life’s work in progress, Roden Crater, where he is turning the 400,000-year-old, two-mile-wide natural cinder volcanic crater into a massive naked-eye observatory, is finally set to open next year.
With the support of the Dia Art Foundation and other donors, Roden Crater’s completion may come within a year. Few have seen its progress, some have been fortunate enough to visit the site with Turell’s guidance, while others have found their own way onto the property by trespassing. When Roden Crater opens, it will be an art pilgrimage of a lifetime. via
